So here's the deal: we've got over 100 years of combined experience in filmmaking. (Yeah… we did the math. It surprised us, too.) Between the three of us—Wyatt Weed, Gayle Gallagher, and Gil Poznanski—we've been through just about everything indie film can throw at a person. Festivals, flops, fundraisers, night shoots, near-misses, and moments of magic.
We first met at the American Film Market in 2008. Three filmmakers from three different continents, thrown together in a chaotic industry event that should have broken us—but instead sparked a creative friendship that’s lasted for years. (We’ll get into that full story later—there’s a whole episode about it.)
But the big question: why a podcast?
Because we talk. A lot. And when we do, we uncover lessons—what worked, what didn’t, how we learned (usually the hard way), and how this industry has shaped us. We realized we weren’t just swapping war stories… we were building something. A perspective. A conversation that might actually be helpful, or at least entertaining, to other filmmakers, story nerds, or anyone who’s tried to create something without a safety net.
Cinematic Perspective isn’t about being experts. It’s about being real. We're keeping it unscripted, unpolished, and hopefully a little inspiring.
So if you've ever found yourself saying, “There has to be a better way to do this,” or “Is it just me, or is this whole process nuts?” — then welcome. You’re in the right place.
Episodes Launch on Monday, August 18.
